A Hat, A Hat.

Recently, I decided to take on new ventures and projects for stock items. My newest experiment has been hats. I had a customer for Avon request a hat. I told her I wasn't sure if it had been discontinued, and I would check for her, and she said "Well you make all of this jewelry, why don't you make me a hat? That way we both win?"

So, That being said, here is the hat venture. Below is a picture of the hat I made (The black one) and the she wanted (The purple and white ones)

My hat came out a little more slouchy than the ones in the picture, 1 because the Mark (Avon) hat was knit and mine was crochet, and 2 because I prefer the slouch look. Since the first hat was prototype, I made it for me to wear meaning I added two extra rows so it could slouch.

I am currently working on some flower patterns to find one I like enough to use on my hat.

I missed you all!

Hello all!
I am finally all moved in to my new location and we are getting our internet hooked up next weekend. I am currently at the library to post an update for you all, sorry it has taken me so long.

So as requested, I made an inspired by Rose line :) It showcases purple crystals and butterflies.

There is a bracelet that goes with, but the gauge of wire I had to make it with kept breaking. I got heavier wire and plan to string it tonight. The image of it should be posted on our new facebook page soon.

Speaking of, I would like to let you all know that we have a new facebook page. I apologize for changing it so much, and promise this is the last time. This page merges my media/graphic art and my handmade jewelry and keepsakes.

Talk to you all soon

Long Time No See!

Hey all, long time no see! Sorry I haven't posted in such a long time. I thought I should stop in and update you all on what is going on here. I am in the process of moving, which means I am going to have a bigger work space! For the next two weeks all creations are on hold due to packing and moving. We have to paint the new place and get settled in. Once the transition is done I will announce the winning new line!

Hope all is well and Happy February!

New Ideas?

Hey folks!
I have been trying to brainstorm a few new fresh ideas and am hitting a wall. So for the month of Feburary I want to try and create a request line. Items inspired by requests and suggestions from my peers. What would you like to see?

I have had a few suggestions recently, my friend at Mrs. J at Trans-Atlantic Crafts suggested I use some of her recycled aluminum flower for a few fun ideas. I am currently working on trying to create something functional and fun out of the items I recently ordered from her.

I have also had some suggestions for the use of buttons and feathers. Please please share your ideas! I would love to hear what you guys want to see...

Makeover Time

I don't know if I already posted about this, but I have been put on "NO BEADING!" order by my friend Dr. Massage. Unfortunately, that means I can't work on any new projects for a while. As well as I must type like a computer illiterate noob. My right arm has been confined to an ugly (and smelly may I add) brace.

So in my unfortunate state, I have decided that I am going to give some of my web pages a makeover. This including new banners posted here and in my shophandmade store, as well as posting some back inventory that I have been, well, selfishly delaying posting because I almost want to keep these items for myself. But with not only being confined to my brace, but also out 99% of my childcare hours due to the retched economy I need to try and push some product. Clear up space in my bins, and contribute to the bills.

So though I have no new items to share with you today, I would like to remind you of my shophandmade store ; http://www.shophandmade.com/store/jccreations/ and encourage you to go check out some of the new product and banners. Slowly, actually, extremely slowly being that I am typing at the speed of snail, and surely I will have my stores completely made over and hopefully this blog as well. I will finally decide on a layout that I like and feel is presentable enough to share on a semi-permanent basis with you, the lovely follower, who puts up with my indecisiveness on a day to day.

Inspired by...

Due to a lill in sales, I am working on a new jewelry line to try and promote my jewelry. I am also working on making my pieces a little more aesthetically pleasing in my shops so let me know what you think of my new art!

as you can see this particular set was inspired by "champagne and roses" I found an image in one of my bridal magazines and it instantly inspired me to make some pieces to match its palette.

HAIR HAIR HAIR!

As some of you know, I recently had to withdraw from hair academy due to injuries from my car accident in August. No more hair styling for me...well at least no more hair styling that I cant take six hours to do because I have to take frequent breaks to sit and rest my back and shoulders. So since I cannot get licensed to style hair, I figured I would put my creative eye to use by making decorations for your hair!

So here are some of my new creations:

My fiance and his mom call this my dragonfly. I guess with the green ribbon on the clip it makes it look like a dragonfly. I made the flower out of left over seed beads and wire from some of my bracelets.

This is my very me piece. I made it with leopard print ribbon and feathers in purple colors. I especially like the shape it ended up in. It feels very modern with a 20's vibe to me...

When I made these two, I had my little niece Avery in mind. I know she loves pretty flowers and she has fine hair. So I made two different versions in hopes that one of them will hold in her hair. The smaller of the two is made with a snap clip like the ones I wear on a daily basis. The larger is made with an alligator clip like the ones I used in school for setting curls.

I made this clip thinking of warmer weather. Daffodils always remind me of when the cold is finally going away because where I grew up daffodils blooming always meant it was tulip festival time, which meant it was almost summer.

I absolutely love this clip. I made it with some left over flowers I got for scrap-booking on clearance. Once I got them home I used them once and almost regretted buying them because I was sure I would never use them again. Now I have about 7 clips made out of these little flowers. Heck Yes! Right!

I just absolutely love these flowers. I left the stem on them so you can kind of hide the clip they are attached to if you wear it on an up-style like I have here, or you can put it right above your ear so it looks like you're doing the good old effortless pick a flower and put it behind your ear look. Difference is, this flower will stay, and wont die.
So there are just some of the new products I am listing in my shophandmade.com store! Check it out if you want to see some more detailed pictures of these clips or some of the new ones I make during the course of this week!

Shop Handmade!

I have almost gotten all of my product listed in my new store! I am super excited about this. The new store is free for me to list in making prices for you able to be a little lower. Also it is a lot easier for me to run sales through this site. Right now I am running a great sale on out dated items, most of my christmas and halloween product is 10-20% off! So go check out the new store, and join the thousands of people who.....(wait for it) SHOPHANDMADE.COM!

was that too cheesey?

On a less cheesy, less sales pitchy note, here is a link to the new site.

All of my bracelets and coasters are listed and I am currently in the process of listing all my earrings and necklaces.
Hope you all enjoy this new site!

Now for my great exciting news! I am staring a beaded flower barrette line! Pictures soon to come.

Photo Editing Fun!

Hello All-
Sorry it has been a while between my postings. The fiance got a photo editing program for christmas, so I have been learning how to use it so I can make my pictures more aesthetically pleasing! I also signed up for a website called shophandmade.com where I am currently working on building a store. Unlike ebay and etsy, shop handmade does not charge me to sell my items.

Along with all of my photo editing work, I have been working a few intricate pairs of earrings. These took a lot more work than I anticipated, but turned out to be work the effort.

Now I just have to work on my camera taking better quality photos.

I also have been creating some new logos and banners trying to find something fun and new to revamp my page for the new year. I am testing out this new background, and do not know how I feel about it quite yet. I am still trying to decide if I want to go with professional, or personality.
Here are some of the new logos:

They all still have work to be done to them but they have the general idea of what I want them to look like now. Let me know any suggestions you make have on the look of my page and my new logos!

Now back to editing and posting my images to shophandmade.com I will be posting the link to my store VERY soon :)

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Hi eveyone! And welcome to 2011!

Now that the holidays are over it is time to get back to work on the site. I have made a few things over the holiday weekend but of course have not posted anything quite yet. I have some fantastic new earrings and some bracelets ready to be posted for the new year. Remember you can buy from me at Etsy.com or you can always email me for requests. jcscraftycreations@gmail.com A friendly reminder that all jewelry is hand made one of a kind jewelry. This means that unless you request it specifically you will not come across another person wearing the same piece of jewelry as you! I know that I personally hate coming across another person wearing the same thing as myself, therfore rarely buy mass produced jewelry at chain stores. Everything I make is unique, and custom to each design, inspiration and or request.

Check out my shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/jcscraftycreations to see new listings For Sale! Soon I will be posting a deals section there for items $5 and under. Also remember to find us on Facebook!
